I was forwarded an Apple Aperture mini review today, and this app looks like it’s set to square off with Fotostation - I’ll be interested to hear what some of the Fotostation heads I know have to say about this one, although the hardware requirements look apprehensible.
Still, why not go all out and implement MPEG-7 á la Caliph / Emir? If digital photography has had one effect, it’s that even the less professional fotoheads tend to accumulate thousands upon thousands of pictures - simple tags quickly run out of steam here, and semantic search functionality starts looking really, really nifty.

Stay tuned for more sophisticated search methods .. beginning of Feb. I will hopefully have my clustering of semantic search results up and running for a release.
